Clerkship:
Marshall I. Pickens Hospital hosts a medical school clerkship for third and fourth year medical students of the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Columbia campus. This clerkship integrates one on one attending supervision in inpatient, outpatient, emergency and consultation services. Students also have the opportunity to rotate at Harris Psychiatric Hospital, the state sponsored hospital for the Upstate, as well as the child and adolescent program. Electives and Acting Internships are available for USCSOM and visiting students.

Residency Program:
Greenville Health System/University of South Carolina Psychiatry Residency Program is a four-year training program that accepts four residents per year. The Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Residency Review Committee (RRC) granted initial accreditation for two years to begin July 1, 2013. Grand Rounds:
Marshall I. Pickens Hospital, in conjunction with the Greenville Health System, is a leader in continuing education. MIPH hosts Grand Rounds twice per month with CME/CEU offered at each event. Grand Rounds occurs on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month except November and December. Recent presentations include Health Care Reform: Where have we been? Where are we going?, Inflammation in Neuropsychiatric Disease, Spiritual Assessment models for the Interdisciplinary Healthcare Team, Best Practices in PTSD. Each session offers one hour of CME credit and is free and open to the public.
