Dr. Parsons is board certified in General Psychiatry. He is a native of South Carolina and has lived in Greenville since 1995. He is a graduate of Wofford College and completed medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina. He then went on to complete a residency in Family Medicine at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine and became board certified in family medicine in 1984. Dr. Parsons also completed a second residency in Psychiatry at Emory University and was a Fellow in Forensic Psychiatry.
Dr. Parsons serves as Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville.
His special interests include mood disorders, anxiety disorders, the medical aspects of psychiatric illnesses, working with college students, and the interface of psychiatry and law.
